Talking About Suicide | Free Workshop in Derby
Presented by Lifeline WA & Supported by Rio Tinto
Lifeline WA, proudly supported by Rio Tinto, is bringing free mental health training to Broome and Derby this September in alignment with World Suicide Prevention Day and R U OK? Day. Each year, over 100,000 West Australians reach out for help. Our mission is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis, and break down the stigma that too often stops people from seeking the help they need.
In this workshop, you will gain practical knowledge about suicide, including how to recognise warning signs, start a conversation if someone may be having suicidal thoughts, and offer meaningful support to help keep them safe and connected. We will also discuss the importance of self-care and how to link people with ongoing help and resources.
This session is free and open to everyone, and is designed to give you the skills and confidence to support others in your community, workplace, and personal life.
